Founder’s Letter:
I’m Col. Robert Sergent, founder of Alpine Distilling in Park City, Utah. As a Kentucky Colonel, I have a deep respect for tradition, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of quality.
My path here has been anything but conventional. I spent years as a Director in the National Football League, where success required precision, discipline, and vision. Later, as an executive at Johnson & Johnson, I saw firsthand the power of innovation and an uncompromising commitment to excellence. When I turned my focus to spirits, those same principles became the foundation of Alpine Distilling. We selected, when able, hand-made, American equipment - a traditional, jacketed copper Pot Still for me and a custom, pressure-driven Vapor Extraction Column Still for Sara, and purchase supplies from people we know and admire.
Alpine Distilling wouldn’t be what it is without my wife, Sara Sergent. As CEO and Botanical Master Distiller, Sara is the driving force behind our success. Over the last five years, she has become the most decorated Botanical Distiller in the world—earning entry into the prestigious Gin Guild, winning Gin of the Year in London, and securing Best in Class at the TAG Awards, among many others. Most recently, she was named CEO of the Year by Utah Business Magazine, a recognition that speaks to her exceptional leadership and vision.
We built Alpine Distilling from the ground up, obsessing over every detail—from sourcing the best ingredients to perfecting each blend. The results speak for themselves. Our spirits have gone head-to-head with the best in the world, earning awards and, more importantly, the respect of our peers. Our portfolio spans gin, whiskey, and liqueur—each crafted with the same dedication to quality and character.
But medals and accolades are only part of the story. What matters is what comes next. The way we drink is changing. People are seeking out quality over quantity, authenticity over gimmicks. It’s no longer about excess—it’s about experience. If you’re going to drink less, you should drink better.
At Alpine Distilling, we believe in transparency. You should know where your spirits come from, how they’re made, and why every bottle matters. We take the time to source exceptional ingredients, refine each batch, and create spirits that are worth savoring.
We also believe in responsibility. Sustainability isn’t a marketing angle for us—it’s a core value. Earning the Green Business Award three times was just a step in a larger commitment to reducing our environmental impact and supporting our local community.
And beyond all that, we believe in adventure. A great drink isn’t just about what’s in the glass—it’s about where it takes you. Whether you’re winding down after a day on the mountain, celebrating with friends, or reflecting on a moment of quiet appreciation, we want our spirits to be part of that experience.
I invite you to explore what we’ve built. Taste the difference. See the care that goes into every bottle. And most of all, join us in raising a glass—to craftsmanship, to adventure, and to drinking better.
Cheers,
Col. Robert Sergent
